MAGA Boots

                                                        Shoes | Watch | Bracelet

I titled this post "MAGA boots" because they are by Ivanka Trump (get it).  I call them the make anything great again boots because, really... put on a pair of over the knee boots and you feel like you can do anything! I got these last year when the Stuart Weitzman ones were all the rage and there weren't many cheaper options except these. Now you can find them anywhere. I love these but I have to say that they do not stay over my knee as good as they should. I find myself pulling them up a lot. But when they stay up, they look amazing. I've heard these Steve Madden ones stay up better.

It is raining, actually pouring here in San Diego again so we are staying inside watching Netflix and football. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

The Man in Black

Shirt: here, Jacket: similar here, Booties: old, similar here, Bracelet: here & here, Sunglasses: here

This All Saints jacket is probably my favorite thing that I own. I like to have a few staple pieces that will last forever and never go out of style. It was a gift from my husband a couple of years ago.  This is one of those "investment pieces" that you will have forever and will never go out of style (that's how I justify it at least. Mike rolls his eyes when I say it, lol).

My brother got me this shirt for christmas and it was a steal at Target.  Is there anything better than a Johnny Cash shirt?! No way!  It makes me look a little bit cooler than I am and I love it!  I love shopping at Target for trendy/cool pieces like this.

It has been so gloomy, cold, and rainy here in San Diego and I absolutely love it! We hardly ever get weather like this so I am taking full advantage with the heat on, bundled up on the couch, and lots of coffee!

First Outfit Post

Dress: Nordstrom Rack, Boots: Vince Camuto, Bracelet & here, watch: Michael Kors, Bag: Louis Vuitton, Necklace: topshop

WOAH! I cannot believe I am FINALLY doing this.  Let me just say, posing for these pics is much harder than it looks. Much respect to all the bloggers and models out there! It's not easy and for me felt super awkward this first time. Hopefully, over time I will improve and it will be easier and more natural.  But.. you gotta start somewhere, so here I am!

There is nothing more I love than a good pair of knee high boots.  Well, actually, there is: over the knee boots, but we will get to that later.  I saw these and kept putting off getting them until I happened to catch them on major sale for black Friday.  I wear these with dresses, jeans and leggings and they go with black or brown. What I like about this dress is that it is one of those you can throw on and make it dressy with some heels or more casual with boots like these.

Next post is a little more edgy ;-)

New Year, Fresh Start

2017 is here! Can you believe it? It is true what they say, the older you get, the faster time goes. Then, have a baby and time really flies! I can’t believe my Jack is already almost three months! I personally love the idea of a new year and a fresh start.  It is a time for me to reflect on the past year and set goals for the new year to come.  I know resolutions aren’t for everyone. But I like to look at it more as goals; Ways to better myself. I usually make a couple goals and they last a month or two. I really want to try this year to discipline myself to stick to them.  I think one way this can happen is to tell people about them so they can hold me accountable. This year I have a few: get organized, read more, lose weight, get back in my bible more, and BLOG! I really hate to be the cliche of the first three but…. it is what it is.

Get back in the bible: It’s no excuse, but since Jack came along, the daily quiet times aren’t happening like they once were. My mindset is completely different when I am doing good spiritually. I will not be able to reach any of my other goals unless this one is being met first.

Get organized: I am not the most unorganized person… but I also wouldn’t be considered super organized. I am very laid back and go with the flow in my nature and this can be good and bad.  Not being organized is one of the bad ways. When you are as laid back as I am, sometimes things just don’t get done.. or put in their proper place. And over time that creates a lot of clutter. Which I hate. LESS IS MORE! Whether it is our garage, my car, my closet, or my makeup drawer, I want everything to have a proper place. No more throwing things around. Mike and I have started getting things cleaned up and organized with tubs and xoxo containers and we already feel so much better! I also want to be more organized with my relationships. Responding to texts, reading all the way through emails, and not double booking things are a few ways I can improve this. This sounds easy but for me will be a challenge! I don’t want Jack to grow up thinking his mom is a scatterbrained mess, so this one is extremely important to me.

Read more: To be honest, I don’t love to read. I know how narrow minded that sounds. Which is why it is on my list. Smart people read. They just do.  Nothing bad comes from reading.  I want to read more to better myself. And thats that!

Lose Weight:… I hate to put this one on here because I don’t want to be that person, but… I just had a baby, and things just aren’t the same!

BLOG: This one should be the easiest but will be hard. It is hard to get started and put yourself out there. This is something I have wanted to do for years and now is the time!

So there are some of my goals for 2017. If I have a day or two, or even a week when I don’t follow through on all of them, I will not beat myself up, but get back on the horse!

What are your resolutions or goals for 2017?
