Mother's Day Gift Guide

Hey girls! I created a Mother's Day gift guide to try and make shopping for mom a little bit easier.  My mom literally has everything on this guide except for the Jo Malone candle so it is all mom approved (I have most of these too).  I love to get my mom things that she wouldn't normally get herself.  After becoming a mom myself, I have so much more respect and love for my mom. She is amazing and I love to treat her to something nice for Mother's Day.

1. Barefoot Dreams robe: My mom and I both have this robe.  She got it for my birthday a few years ago and them I got it for hers 😂. We both LOVE this robe.  It is soooo soft and cozy. We both wear them all the time.  We facetime just about everyday and more times than not we are both in our robes.  Even when it is summer I wear it in the morning time when I am having my coffee.

2. Jo Malone perfume: Jo Malone has a reputation for a reason.  The scents are so different and last all day!  The first one I got my mom was mimosa and cardamom. It smells AMAZING on her.  I will never forget when I was in labor with my son every single time she walked in the room it smelled amazing!  She gets compliments every time she wears it.  We both love wood sage and sea salt because it is a bit different and slightly masculine.  They have so many good ones and make for the perfect gift!

3. Nordstrom pajamas:  Again, we both have these and love them! So comfortable and so adorable.

4. Miller sandals: No woman doesn't want a pair of these.  Classy and go with everything!

5. Kendra Scott earrings: One of my moms favorite things I've gotten her to this date.  She loves these in particular because they are light weight.

6. Barefoot Dreams blanket: Just like the robe, it is the softest thing ever! Perfect for getting cozy on the couch and watching Hallmark movies 😊

7. Jo Malone candle: such good reviews and smell so good!

8. Kendra Scott necklace: dainty and goes with so much.

9. Vince Camuto Sandal: my mom loves these because they have a heel that is comfortable.

I hope this helps.  If you have any questions please comment below.  What are you getting your mom this year?!

DSW has been so good lately. They have so many great/stylish shoes at such affordable prices. All of these above are just under $40! How could you not pass this up?

1. Black Heel: These are just a staple shoe that you need in your closet.  I cannot tell you all the times I reach for a simple black heel.  These have great reviews and because the heel is thick they should be pretty comfortable!

2. Floral Heel: These are so great for spring and summer to spice up an outfit.  Once again, small block heel so not uncomfortable and great reviews!

3. White sandal: I LOVE white shoes for spring and summer. These are SO cute!

4. Sandal: These come in so many colors and would go with pretty much anything. You could wear them with a dress, jumpsuit or even jeans.

5. Snakeskin heel: I would wear these ALL THE TIME! Y'all know how much I wear black.  Throw these on and your black outfits will be immediately elevated!

6. Dolce Vita Slides: Okay, these are probably my favorite. Come in many colors and the small studd detail gives them just the right amount of "edgy-ness".  These are very on trend right now and would be so cute with dresses, jeans, or shorts.

7. Leather slide: These are a great basic slide that are similar to the Sam Edelman ones but half the price.  They also come in a few different colors and patterns.

8. Dolce Vita Slides 2: Same with these. Easy, on trend, and come in many colors/patterns.

9. Platform sandal: I LOVE a platform shoe.  They are comfortable and make you look taller.  Who doesn't want that?  These also come in a pretty tan color.

You guys! Forever 21 has been KILLING it lately.  I honestly haven't shopped there in so long.  I got an email last week and they were having a sale on all of their dresses for 25% off.  I got a few and was so happy with all of them.  I originally ordered a small in this but it was a little tight around the arms so I switched it for a medium. This is under $20!  I also picked up this one and this one.  I would say they run tts but if between sizes go up.  If you haven't been there in a while not is a is a great time to go.  They also had so many good shoes and accessories.

Hope everyone has had a great week. We are almost to the weekend!

Hi friends! Target Tuesday is back.... after almost two years! It's crazy how much has happened from my last post until now but I will save that for another time.

I will be getting back to blogging slowly but surely. I am so excited to be picking up where I left off with the "Target Tuesday" series.  Every Tuesday I will have something to share from our favorite place... Target!

Since becoming a mom (and turning 30) my style has definitely changed a bit.  After watching Marie Kondo on Netflix I started "kondo-ing?" my entire house.  I did what she said with my closet. Took every single thing out. EVERY SINGLE THING.  There were SO many SHORT dresses. Of course I hadn't wore them in years.  I was so confused to keep them or not. Part of me wanted to as motivation to get my pre-baby body back even though I knew I would never wear them again.  But thankfully the good Lord helped me see that even if I do get that body back... I am never getting in those again. Those dresses were "24-year-old-vegas-bachelorette-party-Steph".  I am not that young or that girl anymore 😂

So here we are and I am much more comfortable in this long pretty dress.  This dress would be great for church, the workplace, a girls brunch, with heels or flats.  I love the flower detail and pops of orange.  Of course what I love most is that it is 20% off right now making it just over $30. My heels are also 50% off and these go with everything! I also linked some of my favorite jumpsuits from Target that are also on sale.

Target Tuesday: Jack's Sweater

CARDIGAN | JEANS (maternity) | SHOES (mine are old) SIMILAR HERE
Jack's Sweater, HERE, Jack's jeans, SIMILAR HERE

Need an ugly Christmas sweater for your little one? Target has you covered! Mike was walking through Target last week with Jack and wanted to get him a "cozy sweater" because that is all I have been wearing lately. With the chilly-ish weather and pregnancy, I just want to be cozy.  This was a gift for me on my birthday and it was my favorite one for two reasons. Mike thinks I spend way too much money on clothes for Jack so the fact that he spent money on a sweater, this one no less, made my day. Secondly, he got a size 2T. We do have a big boy but I laughed and laughed. I asked Mike if he knew what 2T meant and he said no but when he picked it up it looked like it would fit. It actually ended up not being that big after all. We dressed Jack in this for my birthday breakfast and I just couldn't get over how adorable it was.

I would say Jack and his jeans steal the show in this post. These were given to me as a gift when Jack was three months old and I couldn't wait until he could wear them. Now they are almost too small so he is wearing them on repeat until they don't fit anymore. Have you ever seen anything cuter than baby True Religion's?!?

Target also has a ton of ugly christmas sweaters for adults. So if you are going to a party and need one, look no other than Target! I will link them for women here and men here.

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Target Tuesday + Thanksgiving Outfit

Thanksgiving is almost here! Who else loves this week? All last weekend I could not wait for this week. Partly because my birthday is tomorrow and partly because Mike has some time off.  I love nothing more than relaxing with my family, watching football, and of course eating!

Today I am starting a new series called Target Tuesday.  Every Tuesday I am going to be featuring something that I purchased from Target. Whether it is something for me, Jack, or the house, I am constantly getting cute things from there that look more expensive than they actually are.

I have been shopping at Target for years and I have so many things that people are always shocked to find out I got from there. Take this sweater for example. It is only $25 and looks way more. There are sweaters at the mall right now that look EXACTLY like this and cost  $60+. This is from the A New Day line that they just brought on and I love just about everything in the collection. I live less than a mile from Target and every time I go in it is a serious problem. Some of the employees recognize me, which isn't a great sign :-) SO many cute things.

I hope you guys love Target as much as I do and enjoy these posts! I am also linking the most amazing sweet potato casserole you will ever eat. Seriously, it is incredible.  If you are going somewhere and don't know what to make, make this!

Jack's First Birthday + Gender Reveal

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It's been a little bit since I have posted but so much has been going on!  I'll go ahead and warn you that this will probably be a long post. My baby just turned ONE and I am still in shock about it. Also, I am about 23 weeks pregnant. So lots of emotions are going on in this crazy/hormonal body of mine.

I want to talk about Jack first (just typing this sentence makes me cry). This little boy is seriously the sweetest and best thing that could have happened to us. We could have never imagined how much happiness and love he would bring to our life. It is so hard for me to believe that it has already been a year since he came into this world. I am amazed by every little thing he does. When he blows me a kiss, brings me a book, signs "more" and "please".  The list goes on and on. People describe Jack as happy and serious. When I take him places with me and he sits in the buggy he smiles at every stranger, blows them kisses and waves. This makes Mike and I so proud. He is a ham and a charmer (just like his dad). When he was first born he was extremely alert. My friend Kacey said within a couple days that he is a "pensive little fella." And she was right. He is extremely curious (also just like his dad) and has been from the start.  Before he was born we prayed that he would bring joy to people. He has his fussy moments of course, but he brings joy everywhere he goes.  He is so stinkin' sweet and loving.  He never withholds hugs and kisses and he loves to make people laugh and smile.

And in just a few more months, we will have another little addition to our family.  We found out a few weeks ago that it is a GIRL!  If you know me, you know that I am excited! I am a younger sister to a big brother and I am all things girly!  I was in complete shock when we found out.  Mike comes from a family of all boys and there hasn't been a Slater girl born in 87 years. I thought I was destined to have only boys. My pregnancy symptoms have been a little different but I was resigned to the thought that I would be a mom to a houseful of boys.  I get so emotional thinking about having a little girl because I can't wait to see Jack and her together. I have already began planning the nursery and buying bows and all things pink. I am in baby shopping heaven! We are extremely thankful that God is giving us a precious little girl.

If I am being honest, I am a little scared.  I love Jack so much it is hard to imagine having another baby!  I often wonder how I will have enough time to give them each enough attention.  I have always had this concern after having Jack but Mike has always said our hearts will grow and be able to love even more, just like God does with his children.  I was embarrassed and ashamed of these thoughts until talking to other moms with multiples who felt the same way. Thanks to all the moms out there who keep it real!

We had to go with a "lumberJACK" theme for Jack's birthday. I mean... come on!  It was so funny watching Jack look at everyone like "you are all here for me"?!  I think he didn't know what to think. We had a great time and included a gender reveal for baby girl. My mom killed it with the decorations and my mother-in-law made Jack's cake and the gender reveal ball. Most of the decorations came from Hobby Lobby and Etsy.

Thanks for stoppping by!
